In August 2011, Valve announced Counter Strike: Global Offensive, the most recent in the Counter Strike series. Slated for an early 2012 release, the new game within the Counter Strike series is becoming developed by Valve Software in collaboration with Hidden Path Entertainment for numerous platforms, including PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 besides PCs and Macs.
It originally began out as a CS: Source PC to Xbox port. However, throughout the development phase, Valve realized the port’s potential and finally decided to transform it into a full fledged new game. Let’s get into the nitty-gritty of what CS GO
is all about and what its going to be like.
Counter Strike: Global Offensive
Nicely, to be brutally honest, the Counter Strike series does require a visual revamp. But the thing that most Counter Strike fans will agree to is that the gameplay does not need any tweaking – the primary reason becoming Valve has already fine tuned both Counter Strike 1.6 and Counter Strike: Source to perfection over the years… Continue reading →
I read a notice from the official CS GO site and I repost it here:
Hey folks! As many of you probably noticed we’ve been down for the past week… please accept our apologies! We ran into some issues while migrating servers and transferring the domain which have finally been resolved. On a better note, we are now on a much nicer server and the site should be much faster and more responsive from now on. Please let us know of any errors or issues you encounter using the site.
CS:GO news has been quite slow lately anyway – but Valve did mention on their official CSGO developer Twitter that “our next step, launching the beta, begins in the New Year”. This means that Valve will slowly be expanding the size of the closed beta starting sometime in 2012 (most likely January), meaning that for those of you who didn’t get one of the 10,000 keys distributed for the stress test phase of the beta will now have a chance to get your hands on Global Offensive! We’ll keep you guys posted on ways you can get a key – we’re hoping to procure some ourselves to give out to our readers but at the moment we don’t have any to give away. You’ll know as soon as that changes!
On top of that, we have some big things planned for CounterStrikeGO in the next month or so. We’re launching our community forums in January – and those of you who join up early and help us build a thriving forum community will be rewarded down the line! We’re also planning to roll out version 2.0 of the main site, which will eliminate our dependency on WordPress and switch the entire site over to a Xenforo backend (the forum software we will be using). For an example of what to expect, check out our sister site Battlefieldo which uses the same system that we’ll be changing over to later in January.
It’s an exciting time for Counter-Strike fans and we’re thrilled to be a part of it all! If you have any suggestions or feedback on our site so far, feel free to let us know in the comments.
Dear Steam Users and Steam Forum Users:
Our Steam forums were defaced on the evening of Sunday, November 6. We began investigating and found that the intrusion goes beyond the Steam forums.
We learned that intruders obtained access to a Steam database in addition to the forums. This database contained information including user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information. We do not have evidence that encrypted credit card numbers or personally identifying information were taken by the intruders, or that the protection on credit card numbers or passwords was cracked. We are still investigating.
We don’t have evidence of credit card misuse at this time. Nonetheless you should watch your credit card activity and statements closely.
While we only know of a few forum accounts that have been compromised, all forum users will be required to change their passwords the next time they login. If you have used your Steam forum password on other accounts you should change those passwords as well.
We do not know of any compromised Steam accounts, so we are not planning to force a change of Steam account passwords (which are separate from forum passwords). However, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to change that as well, especially if it is the same as your Steam forum account password.
I am truly sorry this happened, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Valve recently rolled out a new website (http://www.counter-strike.net) that is dedicated to Counterstrike GO. They did not get in much trouble adding much content in it except the article CS GO Facts that I will copy / paste bellow:
Q) How can I get into the beta?
A) The beta is currently closed. The current stress test is to test for crashes with various hardware configurations and how the servers handle the stress. The best way to get into the beta is to be active in the current Counter-Strike communities.
Q)How do I activate the console?
A) Activate the console in Help & Options -> Game Settings -> Enable developer console. This will then allow you to open the console using the tilde key ~. keep reading…
